Keya likes flip flops

I love flip flops! I think at one point in my life I owned over 50 pairs..some of them looking identically to the next pair, but those were thanks to some really good sales at like 90 percent off.

I wear flip flops with Maxi Dresses, jeans, sundresses, yoga pants, and of course to the beach or the pool.

Over the years I have learned what makes a good said flip flop and what gives me the support and comfort I need….if you don’t like flip flops you probably should stop reading now…seriously I’m writing about flip flops….

I used to run to the $1 flip flop sales and buy like 20 pair because I knew they wouldn’t last very long, plus I loved the color options…from basic black to pink coral.

I will say after years of experience I learned that all flip flops are not created equally.

My basic wear to the pool flip flops serve their purpose since you are in them for just minutes at time, and who cares if someone snags them at the pool by mistake or you end up losing one on the way back from the beach….they were $1 it’s not the end of the world. Although it will bug the crap outta you trying to figure out how you came home with one shoe…it’s like when you are leaving Target and there is one baby shoe in the parking lot….someplace your abandoned flip flop is waiting for your return…just like the baby show at Target.

My flip flops with some fashion, you know the ones that are shiny and maybe have the color leather straps…those are great for a Maxi Dress day when you just wanna look cute but don’t require any real support for hours, this is my go to for dinner, lunch, or short events. I never want to get these wet because the material is not water forgiving and they will look like crap once they get wet, and they get mushy and I hate the feeling of walking on oatmeal…all squishy and gross.

If I need a in the middle flip flop with some fashion/style/bling or no bling, I wear Havaianas. The have pretty much every color and for those who like a little extra, such as myself they have limited editions with bling or glitter on them. I have worn these for a few hours, but wouldn’t wear them all day like at Disneyland or anything because they don’t offer a ton of support, but these suckers are durable. I’ve gotten them dirty and they rinse or wipe right off and because the sole is rubber, you can wear them to the pool/beach with no problem the water repells right off. At about $20-25 a pair, they do last for a couple of years.

Now the flip flops that have a longer lifespan and provide the support, comfort, and have never let me down are my Sanuks! These are like walking on yoga mats, because they are made from yoga mats…yup I’m serious.

I love how comfortable they are, but for the first few days they do take some getting used to and if you do get them wet, just now they will need a day or 2 to dry but they still fit and feel great!

Sanuks makes all types of flip flops, slip on shoes, and sandals. They make shoes for the entire family for men and women and my kids love them! Sanuks are my go to flip flop, but  they are about $30-$40 a pair. Is that excessive for flip flops that will last a couple of years and your feet won’t hurt after wearing them hours at a time? Maybe but I put them through a ton of abuse that my $1 flip flops can’t handle, so this is my justification for the price.

I do order mine off of Amazon, and they always run a couple of sales per year, so check and see if you find a pair you might like!

What brands of flip flops do you guys wear that offer comfort and will last a couple of summers?
