Pegboard on point!

So I recently discovered that pegboard can quickly become a life saver in pretty much any place that needs organizing… From the garage for tools, to organizing my son’s massive Nerf gun collection.

I started with a jumbo piece of pegboard at Lowes, I think it was around $13 for a board about 5 feet high and 3 feet wide…I might be lying about the dimensions, but I know I asked the guy to pick it up and cut it in half….and then another half since I had 4 Pinterest projects to tackle. I ended up going back hours later because I needed another board..damn you Pinterest Dream Projects!?!

Any hardware store sells the peg hooks, so I grabbed a couple of bags on my way out…I mean I paid for them..calm down I didn’t steal anything.

I knew I wanted to get rid of baskets of candy in the game room, so I used some old chalk paint and painted the first board black….used 2 coats and let it dry for a day in the garage. The next day using some tools…and some little pieces of wood scraps we drilled holes in the scraps to use it to flush mount the board against the wall so the pegs can move around easy.

Nerf wall speaks for itself. If you have a child in your life with any massive amount of clutter the pegboard is for you. Honestly if you have stuff of your own that needs better storage options you could find

The fun thing about the board is my 8-year-old son was able to place the pegs where he wanted them and organize all his guns the way her wanted them…no more asking mom if I seen his turbo blaster zombie machine thingy..it’s on the wall look for it! (I like small wins for mom)

The last thing I used more scraps for was to help hang hats, belts, lanyards… whatever couldn’t make it to the closet. THIS IS SOO MUCH EASIER!!!

I’m  plotting on the rest of my projects..I want get some more paint so I can finish my closet. I have a ton of jewelry that needs to be displayed!!

By the way  you can buy the small cans of sample paint since you can have it tinted to your customized color…otherwise you are stuck with a gallon of blue paint which you probably won’t use again…like ever. You don’t have to paint it, but because it comes white and kind of dingy, the quick coat of paint makes the project look nicer!

Who knew pegboard had any other purpose besides hanging up jackets in preschool?!
